As if it weren't bad enough that we have to listen to hyperpartisan politicians droning on to some talking point . Now the mainstream media has gotten into the act ! First it was FOX , now it is MSNBC . Ever tune into Fox lately and listen to the latest far right wing rant by Bill O'Reilly , Glen Beck or Rush Limbaugh ? Or on MSNBC have you been treated to what is laughingly called a political analysis by Keith Olberman , Rachel Maddow or Lawrence O'Donnell ?
BREAKING NEWS - These people are not analysts ; they are , at best , commentators and at worst manipulaters and entertainers disguising themselves as journalists ! These people , with their rich contracts , never saw a news story they couldn't distort . They could put a liberal spin on the Lord's Prayer !!
Remember when newsmen ( or women ) just gave us the facts and we were left to draw our own conclusions ? Remember Walter Cronkite , Harry Reasoner , Ted Koppel or Huntley and Brinkey ?
They presented the truth - not spin .
They were leaders of journalistic ethics - not followers of the profit motive .
They informed - not manipulated .
They were balanced - not biased .
They challenged their viewers - not pander to them .
They reported facts - not interpret them .
They respected their audience ; felt a duty to them
BUT NO MORE !!!
Cause make no mistake ; these biased pseudo-journalists have nothing but disrespect for you , the viewer !
WAKE UP AMERICA !!
You are being treated by these guys in the same way as if you were watching an ad for a Big Mac ! You are now spoon fed " feel good news ".
They are telling you what you WANT TO HEAR ; not telling you the WAY IT IS !! You have become a " target audience " . They are insulting your intelligence !
DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT ! Stop being a passive viewer who soaks up GOP/DEM propaganda like a sponge !
Demand fairness - demand balance - demand unbiased reporting and commentary . Show them you are intelligent , inquisitive and open-minded!!!
And if they continue to show disrespect for you , show disrespect for them ! Hit em where it hurts - in the pocket book !
